The book is called "They F**k You Up. How To Survive Family Life - written by Oliver James.
One of the points he makes, very early in the book, is that it is in the first six years of a child's life that has a crucial effect on who we are and how we behave, this is not a book attacking parents but one of providing clarity to us as adults looking back for answers or understanding of who and what we have become.
** This paragraph however is about me questioning within myself and are in no way directed to any of my family members.
*volition meaning the faculty or power of using one's will…. I didn’t know that word
I am also finding some of the discussions in relation to blaming mental illness and the abuse that comes from some of these people with an illness of this kind on their genes and not themselves, as the man that I was in a relationship with nearly 10 years ago blamed everything and everyone but himself. He was a nasty evil man, from the core and I truly believe something happened to him early in his life to make him this way. I feel he really did know, I could see it in his eyes before he hurt me.
So I was also very interested in reading about Rufus May, a recovered schizophrenic.
Let's see how far I get and if I get anything more or will it be just this paragraph!
