Kirsten and I lunched today at The Moody Chef in St Leonards, the meal exactly what I needed but precisely the point where my story begins.
I have found myself lacking energy of late and eating pint size mainly vegetarian meals, I have found myself wondering if I am lacking in a certain mineral going by the name of Iron.
So today when Kirsten text me saying lets do lunch: I decided Iron and I now had an official date, with Kirsten tagging along for some idle chit chat.
The Moody Chef is where we met, and after jumping up and down on the spot for a few seconds at the sight of each other, cuddling like we have not seen each other in years, when the last time we did catch up was two days earlier, we head into the cafe full of excitement at the giggles ahead.
We get seated, in a corner thank goodness, menus in front of us, we are asked if we want help with our decision. At this without thinking about my words and with my normal "bull to a red rag" enthusiasm I say in my never quiet voice "I know what I want, I just need to get some meat in me......" to which the synonym was blatantly obviously by the gleam in my eye and the nervous splutter of disbelief from Kirsten but then the blush starts.
Now when a blush like this starts for me it begins from my belly button, embraces the whole top half of my body, is fire hot and scarlet red.
The poor guy who was just trying to take my order is now on his knees concerned I am about to pass out, and speaks while in apparent disbelief at my redness, as the next words that come out of his mouth are to the effect of "she keeps getting redder; does she need some water"
This, totally rational but there really was no need to state the obvious comment only made me worse.
He himself was then unable to serve us, so turned to the only other girl in sight and said "these two are too much, I have to go away, can you please serve them" She kindly took my order to satisfy my need for meat.
By the way, of course I said no to water, I had a wine on the way!!
And I was handed a name & number on a piece of paper as I walked out the door..... so maybe my red tinge is not that scary after all!!
I recommend The Moody Chef and suggest you all try the beef!! x
My meat order was:
Beef & Cheddar Burger w Tomato Relish
Roquette Leaves, Aioli & Chunky Chips
